I’m Naho (in my 30s). I live in a two-family house with my husband, Shota (in his 30s), our 3-year-old son, and my in-laws (in their 60s). So far, my relationship with my in-laws has been great. My husband’s sister, Mitsuki, is what you’d call a “career powerhouse.” But she suffered a major betrayal. We’re all just shocked by how much she’s spending lately. However, when you consider that she was cheated on by the boyfriend she’d been with for years during her prime marriageable age—only for him to get the other woman pregnant and end things—I can understand the urge to blow off steam. Since Mitsuki is a workaholic at heart, I’m sure once she recovers from this heartbreak, she’ll get back to work. Both my in-laws and I have been watching over her, assuming that she’s likely just spending money to keep herself together.
