There are four people in my family. I live with my husband (Yosuke) and our two children (Kent, a fourth grader at elementary school, and Yuina, a second grader at elementary school). Raising children while working full-time is quite busy, but my husband and I are working hard together. There are times when I want to rely on my parents, but my parents’ house is about three hours away by Shinkansen, so I can only go home during long holidays. On the other hand, my husband’s parents’ house is about an hour away by car, so we sometimes go for a drive and visit them on the weekends. On this day, I decided to go to my parents-in-law’s house to see them for the first time in a while.
To my husband, Hana-chan is a cute little sister, much younger than him. But Hana-chan is already in her mid-20s and a grown-up. That’s why, when I see Hana-chan being too dependent on my husband, I honestly feel concerned and it’s bothersome. But the family of the person I married. There’s no doubt that they are important to me too. I hope we can continue to find the right distance for each other and continue to get along… That’s what I think.
