Wait… They’ll Cover Half the Wedding Cost?! [Episode1]

I’m Nozomi. I married Touma two years ago and am currently six months pregnant. My dad passed away when I was a student, so my mom worked tirelessly to raise me. I’m so grateful to her, and I want to keep taking good care of her. Touma was completely understanding, so we moved in close to my mom after getting married. There’s just one thing… I barely have any contact with Touma’s family. I’ve heard in-law relationships often come with drama, and I feel like getting too involved would only cause trouble.

I’ve only met Touma’s parents a handful of times—like when we told them we were getting married and when we dropped off souvenirs from our honeymoon. Touma seems to pick up on the fact that I don’t really want to visit them, so he tells me, “If something comes up, I’ll go by myself. You don’t need to come.” I’m so glad I have such a thoughtful husband.

My mom, however, was worried and suggested, “Why don’t you drop by just once to see them?” If my mom feels that way… maybe going over to announce the pregnancy wouldn’t hurt. Since they happen to be throwing a dinner party for my sister-in-law’s upcoming marriage, I decided I’d pop in then.
