Tsuyoshi was doing his best in his own way to avoid causing us any trouble. He was working tirelessly to support my mother-in-law’s daily life.
However, it was clear that he was becoming more exhausted with each passing day. Although I knew that this situation couldn’t continue for much longer, I couldn’t help him directly. All I could do was provide him with nutritious meals when he came home and let him get plenty of rest.
And so, finally, Tsuyoshi suggested that we live separately. Considering my mother-in-law’s personality and our lifestyle, my husband and I agreed that this was a reasonable compromise, and so we decided to live separately.
