The Trash-Bag Throwing Husband[Episode6]

I’m Yukari. Called out by my dad for throwing the trash bag, my husband tried to make excuses. My dad calmly pressed him further, asking, “Would you have still thrown it if it were something heavy and dangerous?” When my husband immediately denied it, my dad drove the point home, saying, “So you decided it was okay just because it was a trash bag.” Completely outargued, my husband went pale and was left speechless. My dad told him to get out, and my husband walked away without a word. I was filled with gratitude toward my dad, feeling deeply relieved yet incredibly conflicted inside.

Told that I shouldn’t be with someone who doesn’t cherish me, I nodded deeply. It was such a simple thing, yet I feel like I had forgotten it.

My dad urged me to respect myself and the people who truly matter, and I made up my mind to get a divorce. When I asked to stay at my parents’ house until my hospital tests were done and I could get back on my feet, they gladly welcomed me.

A few months later, our divorce was finalized. I also received a heartfelt apology from my in-laws, which made me realize all over again just how badly I had been treated.

From now on, I’m determined to live my life while taking much better care of myself.
