I’m Kana, 32. While having dinner with my son Yusuke, I suddenly got a call from my dad telling me to come home. When I reluctantly went, my husband Kota, 36, was there — and out of nowhere, he said he wanted a divorce. He’s never had the courage to speak up before, but today he looked confident, almost bold, probably because my dad was on his side. The life we’ve built was only possible because I worked hard and raised our child.
And yet, instead of showing gratitude, he throws divorce papers in my face? Unbelievable. My pride won’t allow that. Honestly, I don’t even love this weak-willed man anymore — but I stayed with him out of kindness.

I didn’t want a divorce, but my pride wouldn’t let me beg him to stay. I told myself I could live on my own — that it might even be less stressful — so I agreed. My father, still taking Kota’s side, said he wouldn’t allow me to rely on him for help. But that was fine, I thought. I could handle things myself.
Or so I believed… until the money started disappearing faster than I expected. Work became more stressful, money was tight, and everything felt like it was falling apart. And then Yusuke said something that I just couldn’t forgive.
