I’m Asuka. My husband, Yusuke, suddenly blindsided me with a divorce, claiming “irreconcilable differences,” but it was actually just a cover-up for his affair. After dropping my daughters off at my parents’ place, I confronted Yusuke and his mistress, Nahomi, at a family restaurant. Even when I shoved the evidence in his face, Yusuke kept spinning excuses. Nahomi, on the other hand, admitted to the affair surprisingly easily. She seemed to have this weird competitive streak toward me, but honestly, I couldn’t care less. When I demanded damages, Yusuke had the nerve to say he could only cough up a million yen. The two of them started bickering over money right then and there, leaving me absolutely speechless.

Nahomi tried to refuse the settlement, but I wasn’t letting her off the hook for what she did. Once I made it clear I was ready for mediation or even taking this to court, they both started to panic. I proposed we settle everything through our lawyers and told Yusuke to pack his bags and get out of the house. In the end, the divorce went through without a hitch. I made sure to get both the settlement and child support in one lump sum. Now, my new life as a single mother has officially begun.
Later on, I heard from Mr. Kakuta that Nahomi had “voluntarily” resigned and Yusuke had been demoted. From here on out, my daughters’ happiness comes first, and I’m focused on moving forward.
