I’m Yukari. I’ve been spending my days rushing around handling chores and childcare while working part-time. Right in the middle of all that, I found out I need to go to the hospital for tests. I’m so anxious wondering if this house will even function while I’m gone. When I told my mom over the phone, she was just as worried. As she said, there’s no way my husband can handle it right now. While I was trying to figure out what to do that evening, he suddenly mentioned he has tomorrow off. Seeing my chance, I asked him to handle the preschool drop-off and pickup. I just hope this will be a good opportunity for him to finally get used to helping around the house.
The next morning, I woke my husband up and reminded him about the drop-off and pickup, but he was completely miserable, complaining, “Why on earth do I have to do that?”
I told him, “You’re the only one who can do this once I’m in the hospital,” and started walking down the stairs when he yelled at me from behind. The next thing I knew, something flew over my head, and trash scattered all around my feet. Looking up, I saw my husband looking down at me with a smirk.
Speechless, I grabbed the kids’ hands and practically ran out of the house. I’m completely in shock.
