I (Mao) live in a family of three with my parents. My dad is a hard worker and deeply devoted to me—maybe even a bit overprotective. My mom can be strict at times, but no one treasures me more than she does. Growing up surrounded by their unconditional love, I always felt safe and supported. I was born with a condition that means I can’t have children. When my parents first explained it to me, it didn’t fully sink in right away, but enveloped in their warmth, I felt like I had nothing to fear.

It took a lot of courage to tell Tac the truth.
I couldn’t bring myself to do it right away, so by the time I finally opened up, we had already been dating for quite a while.
His reaction was pretty much what I had expected. Honestly, I felt relieved that he was straightforward with me when he said marriage was off the table.
Even though there was no future for us, I believed I’d eventually meet the right person and tried to move on. But then Tac just kept acting like nothing had changed, leaving me completely confused.
