Even if I had continued to express my one-sided feelings, neither my mother-in-law nor my husband would have changed. I do feel a little annoyed that they finally took the plunge and did something about it after the “trouble” had happened to us… But when I checked later, I found out that the delivery box was my husband’s idea. He handled the situation properly, so I’ll call it a win-win. I’m also grateful to my mommy friends who gave me advice! This incident made me keenly aware that in order to maintain an appropriate distance from my in-laws, it’s sometimes necessary to take action and be creative yourself.
