Wait… They’ll Cover Half the Wedding Cost?! [Episode6]

I’m Nozomi. I married Toma two years ago and am currently six months pregnant. I’ve only met my in-laws a handful of times. They always seem to look down on me, so I never felt much desire to spend time with them. On top of that, when we went to his parents’ house to share the news about my pregnancy, a shocking truth came to light: my in-laws are apparently helping cover the cost of my sister-in-law’s wedding. When we got married, all they gave us was 100,000 yen and that was it! Do they really dislike me that much as a daughter-in-law? I just can’t shake off my anger over such blatant favoritism.

Even if they’re my in-laws, wrong is wrong, and I have every right to call them out. If I don’t, they’ll just keep looking down on me and taking advantage of me forever. Honestly, the right thing would be for them to reach out and apologize first, but I doubt they even realize what they did wrong. Knowing I had to set things straight for the sake of our unborn child, I made Toma call them.

Instead of apologizing, though, my mother-in-law just scolded Toma. I couldn’t believe she brought up the cost of dinner just to nitpick and hold it over us… How much more does she plan to look down on us?
